Student Success Statement

" A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder . "

- Thomas Carlyle

Reflection : I think that what this statement is trying to compare us to a ship's rudder . A ship won't know when to turn or what direction to go if it doesn't have it and a person won't know what to be or how to get there if they don't set their goals , putting high expectations will make a person have a good goal set, a ship without a rudder is like a person without s goal it doesn't know where it's heading too it's just going where the wind takes him. A rudder is important because it lets you know that there is a reason why you are doing it.

Student Success Statement

" If there is beauty in character there will be harmony, in the home. If there is harmony, in the home there will be be order in the nation if there is order in the nation there will be peace in the world.

Conclusion

If there is beauty in character there will be peace in the world.

Reflection :

What i think this quote is trying to tell us is that if there is nothing beautiful to look up to when there is character our home's will be full of nothing but problems and unnecessary things. With beauty in our character we are bringing little by little peace into this world , even if you think that your effort isn't changing anything around you . Seen the difference takes time but once you do it will either be a blessing or a lesson .

" I would prefer even to fall with honor than win by cheating . "

- Sophocles

Reflection : I think that what this statement is trying to tell us is that you shouldn't feel proud for winning something that you didn't deserve to get in the very first place .

memorial day

Memorial Day

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. Over two dozen cities and towns claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day.
Regardless of the exact date or location of its origins, one thing is clear – Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War and a desire to honor our dead. It was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed. The date of Decoration Day, as he called it, was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any particular battle. On the first Decoration Day, General James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, and 5,000 participants decorated the graves of the 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers buried there. The first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873. By 1890 it was recognized by all of the northern states. The South refused to acknowledge the day, honoring their dead on separate days until after World War I (when the holiday changed from honoring just those who died fighting in the Civil War to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war). It is now observed in almost every state on the last Monday in May with Congressional passage of the National Holiday Act of 1971 (P.L. 90 – 363). This helped ensure a three day weekend for Federal holidays, though several southern states have an additional separate day for honoring the Confederate war dead: January 19th in Texas; April 26th in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi; May 10th in South Carolina; and June 3rd (Jefferson Davis’ birthday) in Louisiana and Tennessee.

Student Success Statement

" Nothing is ever gained in doing what's wrong. "

-Wilford Woodruff

Reflection ; I think that what this statement is trying to tell us is that you don't get nothing good out of doing something bad like for example if you cheat on a test , you might of passed it or whatever but you didn't get the power to all of the sudden know how to do it or such . Nothing good came from it because you didn't pass the test with honesty you had to cheat your way through that test. Doing what you know is right is way better than anything you might of ever experienced because you know that you tried your best and you put all your effort into doing that it's just the best thing you could do .

Nicest Man In The World

Nicest Man In The World :

This one dude , working his shift at the airport found this tablet you must be thinking " hey i would of kept it " well guess what that wasn't all he found that day . Inside the case were so much money 13 thousand dollars to be exact . But guess what he did ? he gave the the money along with the tablet to a police officer in the airport who took it and contacted the owner . The owner came a few minutes or hours later to take it , but that wasn't all she decided to give this man 60 dollars just for doing the right thing ! But this story has a twist , the man didn't keep the money for himself , he decided to give it to some homeless people who he had seen before . He though they would most likely need it more than him . That isn't all , when the camera's asked him how he felt he got emotional . The owner of the airport compensated him with about 660-675 dollars . Hey who said doing the right thing doesn't get you something better .

Reflection : I think that what this statement is trying to communicate to us is that if you do right you most likely won't get paid with money , cash or anything like it but you'll get paid by having many qualities that may become efficient later in life ,maybe not at the moment but eventually.

video

video ;

Drink and driving doesn't seem very logical , right ? well let me tell you about Erick  Smallridge . In the year 03 Erick was arrested for drinking and driving but not only that , during the crash there was two girls on the other vehicle that were killed  instantly . The police departments the judge and everything were in favor to the victim's parents , 22 years of jail . The years got reduced when a woman decided to speak and and told erick that she had forgiven him for all the damage he had causes of course at that time she was still not over the fact that she had lost her child in that accident , both erick and the victim's mom when around every school possible giving lectures about what might happen if you drink and drive at that time erick was still in custody , but even after he was released they both still went around giving these lectures to kids . They were spreading the word from something that had gone through that , no better person could have done it . The victim's mom said that she thinks forgiveness is the only thing that can heal wounds .

" Stand alone . "

- Thomas S. Monson

Reflection : I think that what this statement is trying to say to us is that sometimes it's better to be alone that way no one can hurt you or make your fall or anything like it sometimes it's just better to be alone that way you know where you stand and everything sometimes having someone by your side is okay but sometimes it's not and you have to learn when it's time to move on and left go of that.

Agent Morgan(Criminal Minds)

Agent Morgan
(Criminal Minds)

Derek Morgan , is a supervisory special agent with the FBI'S  Behavioral Analysis Unit . For time , he was acting until the chief of the BAU , taking over as Hotch stepped down temporally . He specializes in explosives , fixations , and obsessive behaviors. Morgan's personality has changed dramatically several time during the course of the series . St the beginning of Season one , Derek appears to be an overeager attention getter wearing three-piece suits and constantly  quoting regulations and been only member of the team who understood Reid's "jokes". His personality would then shift to a suave, ladies man-type before finally settling into the serious , grim-faced agent he is today, especially following his temporally promotions to acting Unit Cheif . However , he still maintains the suave attitude towards women, only in a more more mature fashion. He has shown to be very Flirtatious towards Penelope Garcia . He usually kicks down doors and storms in , he began to believe in god right after penelope was shot and he was praying in a church as she was been operated. Dereck and Penelope have had no romantic involvement , but the deep lobe they share us proof positive that they have a life long bond because neither one can survive without the other. They have a sibling-like bond. Derek's love for his " Baby Girl " was evident as he stayed by her side protecting her snd caring  for her during her recovery.
